Every girl wants to be a princess when she grows up and this dream has remained the same for generations. My mother said I used to say this and I have heard my sister say the same. But in reality when a girl grows up all she wants to be is a Bollywood bride. I think that is what a princess meant to her because our generations are so much influenced by the Bollywood that every other girl wants to be a Bollywood bride as all the actress be it today or years ago have set a bar that we want to follow as that is what a beautiful bride image we have formed in our head.
Every girl that I know of would love to follow her favourite Bollywood diva when it came to taking fashion and style, whether it is from their on-screen presence or off it. Well, when it comes to choosing a perfect wedding day outfit, most brides-to-be would without a question look towards B-town for inspiration, even before they find out what is trending in the fashion circles. Our Bollywood divas have always made the most stunning brides when they have don their bridal fineries, and their wedding photographs are there to proof that.
Here Are Some Bollywood Divas Who Looked Gorgeous As Brides:
Aishwarya Rai married Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. Even though their wedding was kept away from the media glare her wedding look did not miss the cameras. She looked gorgeous in her golden yellow kanjivaram saree on her wedding day. The Saree was designed by Neeta Lulla and was completed Swaroski crystals and golden thread. She also donned 22-carat gold jewelry which was completed with the stunning gold and emerald armlet.
The elder daughter of Bollywood’s dream girl Hema Malini got married to a businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012. The wedding was a typical south Indian temple wedding with all the traditional customs and rituals. But on her D-day Esha Deol looked breath taking in her red and golden lehenga which was designed Neeta Lulla. The lehenga was made by combining three Kanjivaram saree that was specially ordered from south India for the wedding outfit. Her look was completed by traditional gold temple jewelry. Though the wedding was under wraps the pictures prove that she was no doubt a gorgeous bride.
After keeping their relationship away from the shutterbugs, Genelia D’souza and Ritesh Deshmukh tied the knot in 2012. They had two marriage ceremonies following both their individual customs, one was the Maharashtrian style wedding while the other was a church wedding. For the Maharashtrian wedding, she wore a bridal saree with a heavy kundan border which was again designed by Bollywood bride’s favourite designer Neeta Lulla. Her wedding day look was completed by the traditional Maharashtrian jewelry which made her look beautiful and mesmerizing at the same time.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s wedding has been the most talked about wedding in the B-town for various reason. For her wedding day, Kareena Kapoor took the traditional path and wore her mother in law Sharmila Tagore’s wedding outfit which was restored by Ritu Kumar. After the main function, she switched into comfortable cloths only later to slip into a Manish Malhotra designed Burgundy lehenga with a maroon dupatta. For both the occasions she had donned heavy kundan set for jewelry.
There is no girl who has not dreamt of having a figure like Shilpa Shetty but on her wedding day she set some really high limits for the brides. She married Raj Kundra in 2009 in a traditional wedding. For her special day she wore a Burgyndy and red saree style lehenga which was embellished with Swarovski crystals. Her look was completed by heavy Kundan jewelry. Her jewelry and other accessories were in perfect harmony with her Mangalorian style wedding outfit.
Malika Arora Khan:
I should certainly not miss out the perfect white bride of the B-town. Malika Arora khan married Arbaaz Khan. Though their perfect wedding ended yet there is no doubt that on her wedding day Malika Arora khan did look perfect in that off shoulder white gown which had a plunging neckline. The dress was completely true to her personality and the single pearl neck piece added the needed oomph to her look.
Dia Mirza the former Miss Asia Pacific married film maker Sahil Sangha in 2014. Something about her look that forced me to mention her name in the list is that she deferred from the traditional red wedding outfit and instead chose green. Her wedding Sharara outfit was designed by Ritu Kumar. She looked absolutely stunning in the green sharara which was paired with a golden long jacket. Her look was though simple yet very attractive and pleasing at the same time.
So, girls don’t you think that these Bollywood divas looked just perfect on their wedding day well, you would look the same too, just be true to your personality.
